This is the first I've even heard of this stuff. It's like the plot to a horror movie.

You'd be surprised at the amount of murdered prostitutes and junkies you never hear about

A wide range of circumstances have fueled the rumors that police have blood on their hands, whether with a direct hand in the violence or by covering up the horrible acts of others.
seems likely, I mean...0-8 on arrest.

A cop did it, they investigated him, suspended him, then put him in charge of the evidence department.

Warren Gary, my money is on this guy. He's the cop I was talking about. I'm from Jennings and I always remember my brother talking about how this dude was always trying to frick all the teenage high school girls (while he was a deputy). He was a perv, and just a creepy dude.

Sounds like most Louisiana cops I know, no offense to anyone on here that's a cop.

So this is pretty the much the plot to the new HBO show True Detectives? SC Louisiana murders involving women who participated in prostitution and drugs.

From the article:
Makes perfect sense to me.
I'm from Jennings. I can confirm that we speculate that it's likely a cop or someone with connections.
It is almost certainly someone who was trusted by this circle of people. If you ride around in that part of town at night, you are either one of that crowd, or you're looking to buy drugs, or you are a cop. A stranger that repeatedly went down there would be noticed and talked about, and there's no way even a drugged-out prostitute would get in a car with that stranger after 5 of her acquaintances had been murdered.
When we were teenagers, the cops would pull us over if we even rode around down there. Even back then (late 90s), most of us distrusted the cops.
It's just very hard to believe there's some master criminal from that neighborhood. And would a master criminal kill in this small of an area anyway?
Like this Frankie Richard character. How could a guy like that cover this up from determined investigators?

A Cop who had a thing for hookers and blow is the most likely scenario. IMO
Police can get away with things, and that there is so much tampering, just makes it to where you really think that something is up.
Also he sold the truck? To who? Even a yard would hold it before crushing it, so why can't the truck be found? Unlike guns we actually have to register vehicles so they should be easy to find.

You don't HAVE to register it.

I played paintball with Warren Gary (that bought and sold the suspects truck) back in the day.

I'm from Welsh (mean street survivor) and I used to go down South Main a lot in my drug days, and seriously if no one knew you they will come out and say what the frick you want down here, or the cops will pull you over and harass you, (especially Danny Simms). One of my good friends was gunned down and shot 9 or 10 times in front of the car wash and that case was never solved either. They want answers but nobody is willing to talk for 85, 000, put 1 million on the table and someone will spill the beans!
