My daughter has been asking for weeks now when she can go back to school. She's 3.

Can't wait to see how long that lasts.

Did JBE even run this pass the almighty Mayor first?

So child care and educational services are allowed to operate in Phase 1, but organized youth activities aren't allowed in Phase 1.

Huh???

I would think a day camp would be more like organized youth activity and less like daycare.

It's not the kids that are at risk, it's their teachers/childcare workers.

I'm in Atlanta and have a 3.5 year old at home out of his daycare. His two main teachers are in their 60's and the afternoon assistant is as well. Some that work there are younger but I'd say at least 50% would be considered high risk. I'm just not sure how you send kids back to school with that many teachers that are high risk.

They need to find a new job if they are afraid then. You are effectively arguing we never go back to school. This virus isnt going to dissapear

That's a really good looking plan.
I wonder how LaToya's looks right now?

i had the same internal discourse as well. At the end of the day, if they aren't comfortable with working there they need to seek alternate employment.

And yes there are a solid chunk of child care services employees/educators who are definitely high risk.

I don't feel like reading into the details, but my wife's friend runs either a day care or summer camp or something, but she said she's hearing from some other summer camps that aren't going to open while these restrictions are in place.

They would have to spend a fortune having more teachers/councelers, etc because the kids are going to have to be spread out in different rooms.

The sanitation aspect will probably require a lot time.
