An underperforming governor is trying to pander to improve his ratings. Just seems like it would be easier not to be a shitty governor to begin with.
A lot of people actually love Charlie Kirk.
They hate Jeff Landry.
I don't think Kirk would like Landry very much either.

When honoring someone, it is customary to consider how that person would view such an honor.
Anyone with clear judgment who read or saw anything by Charlie Kirk would see that he would not appreciate a statue of him.
If you want to honor the man, set up a course which teaches his thought processes and ethics.
Do something effective.

Excellent post; and I suspect that Kirk's org (Turning Point) should be consulted before considering statues.
I don't think Kirk would have thought too much of Jeff Landry.

I think there are more important things to worry about. I’ve got friends whose animals have died and they themselves have been sick and land and water source ruined with that explosion in Tangipahoa. Maybe work on that.

I'd argue that in several ways....he's made things worse.
Torpedoing the sediment diversion project instead of "influencing" it will hurt us a lot in the coming decades. Most of it had federal funding already earmarked too.
He's going to pimp the META project, Hyundai, etc. - but those were LED identified and marketed mega-sites that have existed since the first Jindal administration - and in the case of Hyundai....the company is warning Louisiana to clean up the infrastructure around the site or they won't build. And META is actually where they were trying to get a Japanese car company to open a plant years ago. Many years of effort just happen to finally pay off when he took the reigns.
I can't think of any way that Landry has done anything that has improved the state. He's just another JBE.
