Get the vintage one and use it as a bug out vehicle. Just put some aluminum foil over the spark whirler and you are good to go in the event of an EMP blast.
Also, make sure it is significantly lifted so you can breeze over those piles of zombie bodies that tend to pile up during near extinction events.
Good luck.

The TJ was the last real jeep, 1997-2006. Find you one without a rusted frame, pay cash and enjoy. Do not have it as your only vehicle. Jeeps are enormous money pit piles of shite and should be considered a 2nd vehicle play toy, like a motorcycle. I have a 2005 and it is not my daily driver by any means, but I'll probably never sell it.

Jeeps: What’s the Verdict?
I personally prefer hot hatches like the Integra Type S, a vehicle I and other high IQ people own.

Jeep owner here and love it. However check engine light is always on and I’m always having to fix something.

What size coffee can do you use on your exhaust?
Oh and how may Type R emblems do you have?

Thing handles as well as my s2000 back in the day.

Go rent one for a week. Drive it everywhere including the highway.
I rent them from time to time when I travel. After about 3 days I'm over it. You might have a different experience

Friends of ours bought one to tow behind their RV. They are retired. They love it and he has the $$ to do the mods so they are having fun.
If I were able to do what they are doing, I would want one.

I am on my 4th Wrangler, going back to 1994. Owned a 87 YJ, 01 TJ, 16 JK, and 23 JL.
When it comes to everyday driver, that is subjective. It depends on what you think an everyday driver is. My 87 had no AC, no locking doors, and around 100HP. I drove that through college and across the country 4 different times.
My 23 JL has dual AC zones, adaptive cruise control and 470HP, it is very much a daily driver. I take several long trips in it, and it is very easy to ride in for the driver. The rear seat of all Jeeps are not the best, if that matters. My commute to work is usually around 30 mins, no issues.
They very tough, if you ever get into an accident. People love to think you are going to flip over, but in reality, these are made to be beat on. Body on frame (like trucks) is hard to beat, and most Jeeps can drive away from moderate to light fender benders.
Now go with me here, if you are interested in getting one, I am going to suggest a used Jeep 392. New those are around $100,000, but you can get one a couple years old for $20,000 - $40,000 less than that. First off the 392s come fully loaded, so you really do not have to worry about any features that you could not decide on. Second a 470hp engine in a Wrangler creates a much different experience. Today's cars/trucks are very calm and safe They feel cookie cutter and no soul. A Wrangler 392 is a live driving experience that can be very calm, but you feel like it could kill you at the same time
. You have to go back to the 60s when they were putting big V8s in cars not designed for it. If you are easy on the gas, it is going to drive fine, but punch it and you better have both hands on the wheel. Putting a 392 into OF+ mode, with exhaust on and engage launch control is a wild experience.
If I was not going with 392, I would entertain the 4xe. All Jeep gas mileage sucks, but the hybrid benefits make it much better. The 4xe also much the torque output of the 392, so equally fun driving minus the beautiful V8 sound.
One recommendation I can make, get the sky one-touch power top. I have owned dual tops on TJ and JK, but I do not think I can ever go back after having a sky one-touch. If you are willing to go crazy, get dual doors (full and half). I have the both and half doors are great for nice weather times. Much more open if you want.
People get worked up over the ducks, but the story behind the ducks is a great story of kindness that started during covid. The woman that started passed away a few months ago. The ducks do no bother me, and I usually get some Christmas ducks to hand out over the Holidays. You do not give the ducks out to a person, you just place them on their Jeep when you see a cool one parked. I get a smile every time I get out to my Jeep and one is sitting on my door handle.

That’s great advice. I may need to put a few extra gas cans on the back as well to make it to the mountains of North Carolina to my hideout. Once it’s loaded down with all the ammo, probably get about 8 miles a gallon.

The best Jeeps were the ones with the 4.0 inline 6 engines from 1986-2006. Why they changed it I’ll never understand.

If you don't have the doors off and your left foot hanging out.... you'll be beat by the JEEP LIFE mob, and banned from ever receiving a rubber duck.

I had a 2015 up to a month ago. It was the most fun I've had driving a vehicle since my hot rod days.
I only gotrid of it because of a design flaw in the 2012-1016 engine.
Even then I had to take one more trip to Arizona before trading it in.
I wanted to try something different but am already bored with something similar.
I want another.

Jeep owners, is this a good every day car? I plan to use whatever vehicle I get to commute to work 30-45 min, haul groceries weekly, and fishing rods to TB every few weekends.

Sadly, they could not get it to pass newer pollution standards they said.

My 05 has the 4.0. It's a beast that can't be killed but boy does it like to drink gas.

Look at the new Broncos if you want that type car. Ford has the turbo down for tye mid size segment.
I see a ton of those around here. I like the looks of the full sized ones...Big Bend or Outer Banks or something like that.

The dude chicks came in and made Jeeps uncool. I miss mine but not the crowd driving around with freaking ducks on the dash.
