He didn't go above 34s without a lift. The stock tires are 33s on a rubicon. Not sure what "hard rock" means

That's a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard rock edition

Just a special package they offer

That is the exact color my husband got...and what his looked like before he got the new lift/wheels/tires

my rubicon is anvil like your sahara. painted fenders and hardtop. I wanted a HR but was not a fan of the red accents with the anvil.

Really love that color. You don't see it that often. Course...I don't think they even offer that color with 2016s now.

Yes we really liked it also. It was a 14-15 color. When they announced the 16 colors last summer I immediately started hunting for our anvil. Ford has a similar color for the f150 now called lithium gray. I just got a new f150 and was interested in it but it's a little too dark, almost black under certain light. Fits the jeep much better.

I am looking at a couple of 2016 JKU Rubicon Hardrock. So far I've been quoted 4K off MSRP. Is that standard or am I getting a good deal?

My question is why the hell do you want to spend 45k on a Jeep? Why do you want to spent that much on a car period?

Because we can, and a Jeep is not a car.

They're mall crawlers. Nothing says poser quite like a dolled up 4 door Jeep.

Nothing says pretentious like critiquing another person's jeep

I live on the coast and for some reason it attracts the most douchy Jeeps on the planet. There are a few around, this little, town anyway, but damn on the weekend the cruisers come out. I want to start a blog about douchy 4 door Jeeps, but I'm too lazy. If they start at $45k no telling how much people put into them. I'm talking multiple green light bars and everything color matched to that. It's easy to make fun of, I'm not being contrary for once.

The car I'm getting rid of cost over 50k. Another reason is wranglers hold their value. Another reason is I drove one as a rental for about a month a couple years ago, wanted one ever since. The 4 door wrangler handles really well for what it is, and is surprisingly quiet.

Sure thing. What does the $90k BMW X5 say about my brother he just bought? How
About the useless 70k Yukon Denali, because let's face it, if you want that vehicle in a usable capacity you have to get the XL to utilize the third row. How about the mini school bus that is the Suburbon?

What might you suggest ?

Should we assume you think anyone that cruises around in a convertible is a douche as well? Because heaven forbid someone purchase something that they enjoy cruising around in.

I assure you my husband's jeep isn't a "mall crawler". He got his lifted with bigger tires not only because it looks good but because he actually goes off-roading in his. Not crazy hard core rock climbing though...only because his jeep is also his daily driver. He plans on keeping that jeep several years though so at some point it won't be his daily driver....then he can have more fun with it.

Mine...isn't lifted and still only has stock stuff on it. It's my daily driver as well. Doubt I'll ever get mine lifted. I won't ever do the off roading he does in it and as a chick...it's actually a pain trying to get into a lifted jeep when you are in a dress However...I can assure you my jeep has gone mildly off road. Where we usually go camping at, and some of the places I hike at....it's a huge advantage having the jeep cause I can go where regular cars cannot.

Some people have disposable income.

It's called disposable income because you can afford to dispose of it on things you enjoy.

Buying a Jeep is a terrible decison. They drive like shite, they ride rough, they leak, the insulation sucks and the a/c is subpar, the electronics are sketchy at best, fit and finish are terrible, underpowered, bad gas mileage, high insurance, reliability can be questionable.
Wow you couldn't be more wrong. The build quality is on par with my wife's 2014 Grand Cherokee. Also, I had a 2008 Grand Cherokee before this and the ride is 1000x better and my insurance turned out to be cheaper.

Have you even ridden in the new wranglers?

The interior is sexy

Brand new rubicons are BEASTS on trails and hills. if your actually gonna use it who cares if your getting a good deal, as long as you aren't getting ripped off. It's difficult to find much parity when buying new. Don't listen to these old bastards who think cause a car is 30 years old and they drove it when they could still get pussy it's better than one built today. A stock 2016 rubicon will outperform any old CJ or wrangler any day.
