If not it's ok. Still have a decent deal in place. I talked to them about using the tread lightly program, but they told me I had to wait 60-90 days before I was able to use it.

Yeah, $4000 off is a good deal. They are wrong about Tread Lightly, it is 30 days. It would probably not help with your deal you are getting already. It is a no-haggle option, but you already negotiated a good deal.

I am at roughly $5000 off MSRP with Koons, but I am going to have to fly in/drive back or pay to ship if I go with them. That eats into savings quickly

Unless you've got some jack to throw away, don't buy a brand new Wrangler.

Check out the used Rubicon prices, you might as well buy new. You would have less warranty and no idea what the previous owner did. If you are getting Sport or Sahara you can try to roll with the used, those are mostly mall crawlers.

Prices are up from when I got my YJ and TJ back in the day, but you cannot take your money with you in the afterlife.

Is it just me or is this crazy for a jeep? Why not get a CJ rebuilt and tricked out for the real experience and then get a truck?

I bought a 2013 jku Sahara for 5500 under Msrp. I had to drive 12 hours to get it and drive back but well worth it. I have driven 3 years now and haven't lost a dime. If I sold it tomorrow it would break even or make a little. Can't beat that.

For these prices, I think I'll buy new.

My husband had a 2013 Rubicon that he traded in for the 2015 JKU Rubicon Hardrock. What he got for his trade...was only 4k less than what he originally paid for it.

So he basically paid 2k a year to have the 2013 Rubicon. Not bad at all imo.

He also had very low mileage on it as well(around 15K IIRC).

Gotdammit... you people have no idea what you're talking about in regards to CJ's. Fking "real experience".

On the other hand... $43k for a stock jeep... uhhh no. Buy a Sport and build it how you want.

Negative Ghostrider.

On a sport you are looking at replacing/adding
Front axle
Rear axle if you do not pay for the D44 upgrade
Transfer Case
Lockers front and rear
Gears
Sway bar
rock rails
Extra skids possibly

If you do all that for less than the Rubicon price, which is doable, you have voided most of your factory warranty and have a mix match of lesser various warranties. You can build a very capable Jeep, but the Rubicon is an extremely great Jeep right off the showroom floor. Stock Rubicons can run circles around several lifted/modified Jeeps.

If you lift a Rubicon and put 35s on it you void it anyway.

Buying a Jeep is a terrible decison. They drive like shite, they ride rough, they leak, the insulation sucks and the a/c is subpar, the electronics are sketchy at best, fit and finish are terrible, underpowered, bad gas mileage, high insurance, reliability can be questionable.

I love mine though. The piece of shite.

I've read the mopar lift kit does not void the warranty.

Oh, in that case.

A 6" lift and 42s might not void your warranty. Until you need maintenance on something. They wouldn't even fix a catalytic convertor when I put a 2.5" lift and ran 35s. All depends on the shop manager that day. And they will flag it for all further maintenance. FYI, people have had their warranties voided after the dealership installed the lift.

How reliable are jeeps that are driven normally(no off-road)

I forget what size wheels/tires my husband upgraded his up to. I just know that the stock wheels/tires that originally came on his Rubicon Hardrock are patiently waiting in our garage for whenever the tires on my Jeep need to be replaced.

Then my Sahara will look that much better

You mean like a girl? Probably pretty reliable.

If you want a road vehicle I would not buy a jeep.
