If you want to put D60s on, you are only going to do that to run a 37" tire or up. So it is going to cost $3-$7K per axle, then you have to start swapping out everything else to support the larger tires

What else are you swapping out? maybe adding a steering assist, if you really want it.

A lot of the options on a rubi are builder basic. if you plan on wheeling, buy the base model(if new) and inf used, try to get lucky and find one of the rare 2wd models for dirt cheap

but if done right will be around $50K

And this is not far off from a Rubi, except you will have a rig that can handle twice as much

umm....none of those upgrades should hurt your warranty

I installed the suspension lift on my grand Cherokee wk and it wasn't fun. Took me about 10 hours. From the videos I've watched, the wranglers seems to be MUCH easier

They are. solid axles Front and rear and easier access

Do the lift yourself if you actually plan on taking it on a trail. you will need to know how to fix problems and look for issues

(Btw, all JK's come with a Dana 44 rear axle, it's not an upgrade option... the locker is an option though.)

In all fairness, the rubi axle is a bit different. However if you upgraded the shafts to chromoly you would be stronger at that point.

depends on what you are running and doing, but most people on this side of the country dont need 4:1

One thing that surprised me in my JK was the new Alpine speakers. That sumbish is LOUD. I was hesitant and was going to do my own upgrades but I couldn't find the Jeep I wanted without it. The nav head unit sucks but the stereo is louder than any of the other factory upgraded systems in my other rides. Bose, Sony, Burmester etc.

Pretty sure mopar is just terraflex with 30% added.

As for installing yourself, do it. And the best afvice I can give anyone is to do a retorque a week later after hitting every bump you can find.

Then hit every bump again for 1k miles. Then get an alignment.

If in BR area, gonzales tire in prarieville. NOWHERE ELSE

I always thought Mopar was Rubicon Express. Maybe they have stopped that.

I think it depends on the mopar lift you get. I'm pretty sure some are teraflex and some are rubicon express

This guy and others seem to know what they are talking about..
But a base model and build it yourself, if you're looking at 50k after upgrading to Dana 60's you'll have a beast of a Jeep.
Also, why would people waste money on an overpriced Mopar Lift? The great thing about Jeeps is the huge aftermarket accessories scene. And anyone who thinks that Mopar Skids and Sliders would do the job off-roading don't know what they're talking about.

This must be a new development because Teraflex was one of the top of the line lifts in the Jeep lineup.

maybe for the TJ's. I havent checked in a bit, but they were nth degree, which was bought out by AEV. AEV works hand in hand with mopar. Now if you see other lifts at the dealer(not that an AEV lift comes from the factory), they are usually sourced from a local builder and marked up double to triple and the usual local builder is 4wheelparts.

Tereflex makes some great stuff, I prefer rock krawlers pro series parts

I really can't complain about my RK suspension. Just need stiffer shocks.

I'm almost poaitive they use terraflex components.

But if I'm honest, I don't look at new jeeps all that much.

For 2500, you can literally get whatever you want short of a true long arm setup.

I'd always recommend a three inch, maybe new arms and disconnects, new trackbars or relocation brackets, and a 1.5 inch body lift. The body lift just makes servicing everything from the top so much easier.

When I was shopping for my Rubicon, salsbury dodge in Baton Rouge had a bare bones JKU Sport with a 2.5" lift, bumpers, and new wheels. They wanted $42k for it
Dealer told me they put $10k into it.

They probably weren't wromg when you think everything at full retail and dealer labor rates. Sales is billed full retail by parts, or at least, they are supposed to be.

What pisses me off is I can buy coil overs for the 4runner with eibach springs for less than I can buy rough country for the xterra and bds for the jeep.

Explain that to me.

Quite routine, Ive seen 15k including wheels, for not even an all inclusive lift.

For 15k, I could almost go full coil overs, get axles, tires and wheels.

I saw a dealer offering a spring lift, with track bar brackets, sway extensions, wheels/tires for 8k. The lift itself was under $750 cost

most dealers dont do the installs or actually purchase parts, they sub out. They take an installs shop full mark-up cost, then add their dealer mark-up to that
