Mob mentality is a terrifying thing, and if you think I'm about to stop and let myself be subject to it you're insane. Studies have shown crowd's will chant at suicidal people to jump while under its affects. What do you think they will do to someone they deem as an enemy or threat?

Normal pedestrians don't block a highway so they can shoot out your tires, drag you out of your car, and beat you to death.
They also don't carry assault rifles and shoot at you as you drive on a highway with hundreds of people in their field of view.

This all turned into organized "election year" protests shortly after Floyd's death. You couldn't find very many people that didn't have a problem with how the police handled that. It started out as a legitimate grassroots protest, but it has been co-oped and funded by powerful groups far away from Minneapolis.
Same thing happened before the 2016 election after the Alton Sterling shooting.
It will probably happen again in the summer of 2024.

As a driver you’re supposed to operate your vehicle in a safe manner. If you can’t avoid someone it’s one thing, but you’re supposed to see a large crowd of people.
What if you’re en route to a hospital with your laboring wife or injured child? NBD, just stop and wait for the unlawful assembly to disperse.

Trust me that Would be a worst case scenario....for the lawbreakers.

I understand you cannot legally shut down interstates for protests outside of extremely narrow situations, and I also understand you can protect yourself if placed in a dangerous situation in most states. These two facts combine to say if you are on the interstate and feel threatened, you can in fact legally run people over.
Being stopped on the interstate is a terrifying experience, especially if it's still wide open behind you. It's designed for cars to go 60+ on them for godsakes.
Oh I get it, you're arguing just protesting isn't a valid reason to get run over, not anything approaching the actual reality of the situation, and attempting to gaslight everyone by arguing they are evil. Have at it hoss.

You’re not very bright.
You are trying to whitewash the situation. These people are not peacefully standing the road and letting people pass at slow speeds. They are blocking the road and attacking vehicles.
In this case, an insurgent fired a weapon at the vehicle who had every legal right to be on that road. At that point, it’s stops being an issue of commerce and starts being an issue of self-defense.
Same thing with the guy in Austin last night.
