Why the hell would anyone pay for a vehicle that shows them ads?

Honestly shocked this is the first time I’ve heard this was a thing. Radio has long put text advertisements up on display in the vehicle.

Let’s first get unassisted full self driving and then talk about ads in vehicles.

Good thing I wouldn’t buy a jeep.

Might have to keep my big, bad ICE vehicle forever of this is the future

I will never pay for something that makes me watch ads. I’ve nearly eliminated them from my life now and I’m not going back.

I ask the same thing to people who pay $200/mo for cable TV.

I’m not even sure how that’s legal. Can you turn them off somehow?

I don’t even want to own a vehicle that has a touch screen

“It should also be noted that ads are part of your contractual agreement with SiriusXM, but we are working on the frequency,” replied a Jeep Cares representative. “Thank you for your patience.”

A Stellantis spokesperson told Fortune in a statement that “a temporary software glitch affected the ability to instantly opt out in a few isolated cases, though instant opt-out is the standard for all our in-vehicle messages. Our team had already identified and corrected the error, and we are following up directly with the customer to ensure the matter is fully resolved.”

Basically sounds like the UConnect Access subscription ad that I used to occasionally get when I turned on my Grand Cherokee. I seriously doubt they actually meant for the ads to show up every time the car stops. Odds are it was probably meant to be a start up ad and somebody screwed up the programming.

Haha yeah. I love my JGC and even though I think UConnect is fine for the most part they are quite good at having weird arse gremlins that make no sense.

So if you adjust the radio station, you have to do it while you are driving? Doesn’t sound very safe…

On the other hand, if it is getting close to mealtime, a list of restaurants along your projected route would not be bad. Or what about if you are getting low on gasoline and it showed distance to several stations and projected price/gal?

I was wondering how long this would take.
