Why should private get public money?

It's no different than any other kind of subsidy. Why do you want to prevent it for education?

How does this answer my question? They were budgeting for a system of 1000 students and now 2000 will be given voucher dollars. Whare does it come from?

In your example, you divide the money available by 2000 instead of 1000 because the parents of those private 1000 were unfairly being raped in that school district.

Each taxpayer whi will benefit from this does not pay tens of thousands in taxes for education. They don't pay the equivalent of a private tuition in 10 years worth of property taxes in all likelihood. Now, consider those that have 2 or more kids and this is quite the handout. Redistribution of wealth, actually.

This is your argument for public education?

I’m a huge advocate for school choice, but this post is complete truth.

Thank you. I'm sure I sounded harsh, but the truth is our schools will not turn around until the families who send their kids there decide to value education.

Information has never, in the history of mankind, been more easily accessible than now. Even the strung out "homeless" junkies begging on the side of the road have smart phones. A world of information - science, math, art, literature, geography, history, etc. - is at our fingertips. We have free YouTube videos teaching everything under the sun, the Khan Academy, TED talks, and zillions of other free resources for people to gather an education.

In all honesty, kids don't even need to go to school to have access to a wealth of knowledge. ZERO excuse for any of this.

public schools in this country, more often than not, suck, and teachers and administrators are not held accountable to parents or students. At my kids school, they are. Can’t put a price on that.
It's the other way around, more often than not. When I taught, I was spit on and threatened by kids and sometimes parents because I "made them do work or behave." I was forced numerous times to pass kids by administration to "avoid conflict and not to hurt their feelings." Public schools biggest enemy are entitled people and liberal bureaucrats, not teachers (most teachers aren't like those crazy SJWs you see on Tucker every night).

It came from the private sector

Stop taking so much private money.

In case you hadn't noticed, a lot of people in this country suck. Our public schools are "broken" because American families are broken. The children attending a school (and the values of their families) make or break it.

You could take the entire student body from one of our private schools and swap it with one of our "worst" public schools, and have a complete change of both schools within a year. The private school would be a failure, and the public school would thrive.

In fact, you are more likely to have highly qualified teachers in a public system due to higher salaries, health care benefits, and retirement plans. We really need to stop blaming the schools for a lot of this. There's only so much you can do with what you're given.

Private tuition will naturally go up above what it is now to offset the added demand that will naturally exist.

This will allow private schools to better compete with public schools via teacher salaries.

Public schools will have to do less with less. I'm skeptical that they have the intelligence to do that. I suspect most places will drown in their incompetency. Areas that are able to put out a good product will continue to get students.

After reading all of your posts, I don't think you have a stance. You are kind of all over the place.

What did I say that was unstable? I gave you a reasonable private school price of 6k compared to 17k a year for a private school education for a K-8th grade private Catholic school. Where do you live that it cost 17k a year for a private K-8th grade school? That would be so out of reach for families with multiple kids including the small discount you receive for multiple kids. And if you are mad that I called out public schools. I went to public all my life. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings but we planned, work hard and want to give our kids a better education than what the public school system can offer. That is the point of having kids. Give and provide them with better opportunities than you were given.
