Nothing is going to stop the spread. Sorry, but you all know it’s true.

Can someone tell my why Walmarts and Malls full of nasty people are okay?
Serious question?

Well would you look at that, nothing changed as us reasonable, level headed folks predicted.
So where’s everyone claiming that we were for sure reverting back to phase 1?

quote:And how do they know this? People who go to bars also go to the gym, grocery store, friends' houses, restaurants, etc. How is LDH so sure they contracted it at a bar and rules out the 10+ other establishments that person may have visited in the 2 weeks leading up to testing positive?
Gyms account for less than 1% of the cases in the state in public areas. 26/1600 total cases.
Apparently bars are 450/1600 according to LDH

We should have did a complete all out 30 day shutdown and we would be much better off.
I’m talking give everyone a week to get enough shite you need for 30 days to live without leaving your house and get other shite together and in order.
A real stay at home order
Didnt India do something like that?

Of course not. The goal was never to "end" this thing. There was an effort to slow it, and I understand why. However, the approach was completely wrong and solely due to knee jerk overreactions in a span of less than 2 days.
We went from an NBA testing positive on March 13 to schools be closed for the rest of the year on March 15th and mayors and governors crawling over each other in an arms race to see who could shut down their city/state for longer.
And all of that was done without any true goal in mind. At the time, we had less than 100 deaths in the whole country but people were willing to quarantine whole cities with no criteria for reopening and no idea how it would impact life going forward. Zero plan or goal meant that anything could be done on the fly with no guidance from science or economics or data.

If Rispone would have won, the media would mention Coronavirus every single time a new person tested positive

Tony Dungy
@TonyDungy
I applaud the Governor of Louisiana for his boldness in asking people to join him in a fast and time of prayer. It’s not “politically correct” but in times of trouble we have to do what we think is best. So thanks to Gov Edwards for following your heart in leading your state

Not saying I disagree but could you imagine the fricking chaos that would have ensued? Holy shite... More than toilet paper would have been shorted.. LOL

Chile did something like that and chile still had an outbreak that has made it 1st in the world for per capita cases in a country with more than 10 million people.

stop your lies. CDC was likely classifying covid as pneumonia deaths earlier this year. check how high pneumonia deaths were to start the year.

What does that have to do with anything when we’re talking about overall cases? Just want to excuse yourself?

The frick you say?
A healthy appetite and solid caloric intake is crucial for maintaining your immune system.
Why is the LA governor and Tony Dungy actively trying to kill people?

quote:If the CDC was "lying" then that's on them. I'm just using the data that EVERYONE had and was using at the time. Were there more COVID cases and deaths? I believe so, but that's not the point of me using that number. It's what we knew then and where we were in terms of known deaths and cases but places were still willing to shutdown completely because of hysteria and fear. That's a fact.
