My family owns 50-60 acres way down Blackwater Road. I take my kid out there 4 wheeler riding when I go out to Central.
I remember in the 80s when a big strip mall development was proposed for that property where that church is.

L. Ron Hubbard once said to become rich you need to start a religion.

We were pretty close to being neighbors.
I get infuriated every time I see Tony Spell’s name on the sign where the ballpark of Baton Rouge was. I had some great memories there.

I'm getting old. We played at CAYL on Lovett. Used to live in Tanglewood and later Morgan Place when I wasn't off of Blackwater with the grandparents (divorced parents).
Fine people for the most part, except for this retard.
Unfortunately I agree with him though. The government shouldn't be able to shut down his church. Virus or not.

Looked like every other church in the area shut down. He could do his sermon online like the others if it’s so important to get the word of God out. He’s worried he won’t get to take these people’s money if they’re not there in person. To send out 26 busses and have over 1800 people in one place right now is criminal.

It isn’t essential to bilk people out of their money. His church is doing nothing but exacerbating the spread of the virus.
frick him and everyone that went there to support that racket.

My church just streamed Sunday morning mass on YouTube.

That has to be awkward knowing the last thing you streamed on that computer Saturday night.

What statute did they violate?
First Amendment freedom of religion and assembly. Constitution trumps all other laws and is the supreme law of the land.

Are you obtuse? You don’t see the pandemic going on and how gathering hundreds of people for some snake oil and donations might be a bad idea right now?
Come the frick on man. This is not the time to play around. Not the time to worry about preachers pocketbooks.
You want to get your sermon out, do it in a way that doesn’t have hundred of people exposing themselves to a rapidly spreading pandemic. Jesus Christ.

Its bullshite, other people are inconveniencing themselves and losing out for the greater good..and these idiots are making it harder for louisiana to get back to work.
The quicker shite like this gets shut down, the quicker it gets back to normal for people.

When we (everybody) see this kind of thing for now on, the state police need to be notified. That is, while we're still under the governor's orders. Church or not, doesn't matter. I'm sure these wackadoos are the same type to hold up rattlesnakes saying that the Holy Ghost will protect them from snakebite. They're gonna need somebody with a level head to go in and shut that shite down for them.

He's wrong for holding services like he's doing, but no more than the people on this board who say, 'I'm going to keep doing what I do, living the life I live, regardless of what the governor says."
You're exposing yourselves, your family and countless others to harm. By all means, do your life, but don't complain when you bring the virus home and infect your wife and kids. You're just living your life, regardless of what the government says. Be proud.
