Don't know all the details but it's technology-related.

Really, I'm surprised any major company would relocate any significant amount of resources to NOLA, given the hurricane threat.

All you have to do is say "computer" and those yahoos at LED will call it tech and throw hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at it. The governor will look for every photo op.

Thousands of tech jobs?? What could that be?

Something to do with Charity Hospital?

You seem to know something.

Is it a distribution center or is it the HQ2 they've mentioned?

Whatever it is, folks involved have done a great job keeping it under wraps.

Doubt it. That project is just now getting restarted and is far down the line.

Anything that is over $1 billion and primarily white collar jobs will be absolutely massive for the city and state. It doesn't matter who the company is IMO.

If it is Amazon, south Louisiana will never be the same. A lot of you will hate what it will do to housing prices and costs of retail space in New Orleans, north shore, and even Baton Rouge.

I seriously doubt it is anywhere near that big. I'm thinking it is in the energy or manufacturing sector.

The governor "misspoke" in September about Amazon building a distribution center, but aren't those a dime a dozen?

Nucor was $3.5 billion

Sasol is $11 billion

Those are two of the biggest in La history...

Unless we're just talking about economic impacts and not actual price tags for the project.
