Do you have the data showing it is increasing? No one can find past data on it.

Show how they are? Roberto didn't show shite other than a word that said "increasing", why can't he be transparent about these supposed increases?

You know why. It's the same reason all the data given to the public doesn't have dates attached to it. He can make the numbers do whatever he wants.

There’s like 5 cases in Acadiana but this dumbass claims it is the reason to continue to shut down

Anything to protect New Orleans I guess

Remember this nifty little animated gif that was shared ad nauseum at the beginning of all of this? "FLATTEN THE CURVE!!!!" was what we were told. "Don't overwhelm hospitals!"

Are hospitals in danger of being overrun now? Were they ever in danger of being overrun? Bodies aren't lining the street. Grandmas aren't dying en masse.

It's interesting that the narrative has shifted from "keep the hospitals from being overrun," to "this is all for your own good. Now put that mask on and get in line, citizen."

You're using new cases/day to mean total cases.

Not at all. I'm using new reported cases. As outlined in the criteria from the White House and reported by Governor Edwards.

but it doesn't mean the total number of active infections are decreasing, which is what you are arguing

I'm arguing that new cases are decreasing, and have been for at least 14 days. We don't know if "active infections" are increasing or decreasing. But one can understand that unless this virus is mutating to a hell of a more severe strain that if new cases are continually declining, that active infections would be as well. If they aren't, that means people in LDH region two are remaining sicker longer. Which we'd certainly hear about, no?

The bigger issue is the fact that hospitalizations are increasing.

LDH and Governor Edwards are not reporting this data by Region on a day to day change. The only thing we have is the statewide numbers, which are decreasing.

At this point, there is no medical or infrastructure reason to do this.

And, in the grand scheme, we will make this exponentially worse if we push it into the fall.

This is true. And, if you believe the doctors in California, this action will actually have a negative impact on deaths because:

* Being quarantined reduces the effectiveness of the immune system
* The cases that are asymptomatic are usually the mild version of the virus. In other words, you want to get it from someone who is asymptomatic.

There is no doubt in my mind that JBE is both driven by an agenda AND just incompetent.

The only data available is the slide that says they are increasing that was shared by JBE yesterday.

The region 2 daily changes are not being uploaded/shared to LDH.la.gov/coronavirus

It isn’t even close to as contagious as measles, chickenpox, mumps, and a host of other viruses

Way to move the goalposts.
I said one of the most contagious.
not once did I say it was THE most contagious.
I do hope you feel better about yourself though.

But it isnt.

It has an estimated R0 of 2-3

It is pretty standard in terms of contagiousness. You pulled out "one of the most contagious viruses ever" straight from your arse

Thats, by definition, illogical. Its a logical fallacy. But good job on thinking you were smart.

Do tell, who and what did you base your actions on the last couple months?

They aren’t increasing state wide which is why the state shouldn’t be shut down. I would have less of a problem if the governor announced region by regions closing, but that’s not what he’s doing. He claiming because BR and Monroe are barely increasing, lake Charles and New Orleans must remain shut down.

April 2nd 1,639 hospitalized
April 3rd 1,707 hospitalized
April 27th 1,683 hospitalized

Remember JBE saying we would be out of vents and hospital beds by April 6th?
