This isn't about ignoring covid. This is about our representatives having a say in any kind of restrictions or mandates moving forward and JBE not having complete control over how every person and business in Louisiana must operate. Put power back into the hands of the people and let them make their own fricking decisions about whatever precautions they see fit and stop targeting specific industries.

If he would just let everyone back to work, sales tax would probably outweigh the bailout.

Said this in another thread —he forgot his middle school civics lesson on checks and balances. The legislature sent a reminder to him. He has gone unchecked on every decision since Jan 2016. He and the people at LDH “know better”, even though it’s obvious from social media that the past lead COVID doctor at LDH had a political agenda. They finally admitted they made decisions based upon bad information and include data points in current figures that are misleading at best. (Especially death counts. ).

he's back to throwing a tantrum and talking shite after hurricane talk and then trying to fear monger the meager COVID stats.

Yeah that’s not how that works. Sorry dickweed. It’s in the state constitution, and you can’t just decide your not going to comply with the legislatures limits of your power.
There’s nothing to go to court over, and the very notion of doing so is exactly why his powers must be limited.

he's going to argue they didn't consult with the public health authority?
that's exactly what he just said.
He's also saying it has to be the whole legislature when the language simply says "The legislature, in consultation with the public health authority, by a petition signed by a majority of surviving members of either house, may terminate a state of public health emergency at any time."
So he's already lying. Doesn't say you have to get the approval of, just consult. So go get a public health authority figure to speak their mind while you make the jerk off motion and roll your eyes and resend the petition.

So now JBE is filing a law suit to defend his public service emergency order?
Who is he suing?

This type of rejection of the rule of law has often sometimes been followed historically by violent overthrow.

What a little bitch
quote:
Today, I filed a lawsuit in state court defending my COVID-19 public health emergency proclamation, which has been challenged by some members of the House of Representatives just as new COVID-19 cases reach a third spike across the country.
In addition to the fact that getting rid of the mitigation measures that have proven to slow the spread of COVID and save lives is reckless and dangerous, the law being used is blatantly unconstitutional.
Louisiana remains in Phase 3, our successful mitigation measures remain in place, and I will continue to work with public health officials and experts to make decisions based on sound science and data. LINK #lagov #lalege
