Doubt they are doing autopsies. Coroner law says if you have been treated for the last certain number of days for an illness, the treating physician can certify the cause of death and no autopsy is required.

meanwhile....dumbass fricking count Cantrell extended the stay at home yesterday

What's worse was the reason she extended it - she didn't want tourists to re-ignite the disease in NOLA...

Ok, easy enough - leave the French Quarter shut down and ease up on the rest of NOLA. Still distracts and keeps tourists away, and most NOLA residents (who wouldn't go near the Quarter to begin with) can start to ease back into life.

I have been following Ron’s case through friends of friends. He had surgery and an infection. His case seems very drawn out due to that infection. I believe they retested for covid yesterday and are waiting for results. I am not a friend of his or an expert. I just see updates on him usually every day.

10k test results came in

I don’t think the spikes in new cases are accurately depicted on the curve chronologically.

3k new cases today based on test results aren’t new cases today. They were new a week ago when they got swabbed.

I hope that he pulls through. Infections are a risk of surgery for sure and can complicate things.

With Trump laying out his plan today i'm betting hes coming out to say he wont be following or the state is not ready. Something along those lines.

Which I agree with. Every region is different. What will work for the west coast won't work for the midwest. What works for the south won't work for New England.

To have a one size fits all plan for a country as diverse and large as the U.S. is stupid.

And how do you know the state doesn't have a lot of influence over this as it is?

I dont think JBE knew that Cantrell was going to extend the stay at home for new orleans...it sure didnt sound like he knew...he said they discussed it but didnt know for sure it was coming.

What works for NOLA won't necessarily be needed for Vermilion Parish.

My thought as well, but I'm admittedly some naive when it comes to politics.

Even so, it's not something that's written in stone and can't be rolled back if needed.

I found this on FB; sounds like he's doing better!!

quote:

4/12 Update: Dr Ryan Richard FaceTimed me this morning to give me a personal update on Ronnie since it was EASTER. Today is his last day of Plaqunil and is no longer running fever. He thinks Ronnie’s fever was from Trachea Bronchitis, and the antibiotics are taking care of it. When the doctor said his name, Ronnie squeezed his hand. They are anticipating moving him to BRG Mid City early this week. Dr. Richard assured me that his team would follow up in caring for Ronnie. We are thanking God for so many answered prayers today. May HE continue Ronnie’ healing. Hoping your Easter is full of joy, happiness and peace today and always. Happy Easter!
