The absolute idiocy on this matter never fails to amaze me. You clowns bitch about JBE's response this, but praise Trump (he's doing a good job balancing). What your morons fail to understand is that JBE is relying on Trump. So when you bitch about Honor Code, you bitch about OMB.

The governor said his administration will rely heavily on the federal government’s guidance on the next steps after the stay-at-home order. The state has largely followed the guidelines offered by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control thus far, instituting several waves of restrictions based on CDC guidance.

They can't see beyond the letter next to someone's name. Everything else could exactly the same but if you flipped JBE and Trump's political party their rhetoric would flip with it.

Have you been listening to his press conferences? He has a recurring theme where he praises the federal response/guidance. But then provides his own spin, perspective.

Yesterday, regarding this thread he started out saying we’re going to continue to receive guidance from the CDC but also take into account our specific needs as Louisianians. Then went into a pitch with Dr. Billioux about the inconsistencies in testing, need to wait until a conclusive antibody test is developed, etc. etc.

This is how he manipulates the masses into thinking he’s “working with Trump” or following his guidance.

The quote that has set off this entire thread was stated by a Livingston parish official that says we shouldn’t open up until we have antibody tests AND a vaccine.

I’ve never heard that come from the WH

the point remains, JBE is/will rely on Trump. It's okay to hate JBE, just know why you're hating him. That's all. Louisiana's predicament was a tad different than what Arkansas has experienced.

when Texas opens, this talking point dies

i don't "hate" him but my criticism of him in this crisis is he knew Nola/JP were hot messes and refused to quarantine them or even make public statements prior to his statewide shut down. also he's going to likely refuse to open the whole state to pander to Nola/JP moving forward

but if there is real federal guidance on a national level, how can Arkansas never close and TX re-open? they have the same national guidance that we would have. that's why, at that point if we don't re-open, it's just a talking point and not reality

So you want him to take guidance from Trump??? The same man who thinks he has absolute power?

Him taking guidance from the feds but taking into account the specific needs of Louisianians is exactly what he should do. I knew there were some dense people on this board, but wow y'all are really going all in on the stupid with his one.

Current US fatality rate is 8 times that (0.0079% of the population has died as of today from the virus). So what's your basis for the "less than 0.001% of the population" number?

Frick, even the global number is 60% over that number (0.0016%), with the World's most populated country lying their d**k off.

This is a lie and projection by people who are pissed he’s president.

Everyone is fine with that. We are just disagreeing with what that “right for Louisiana” is

So by your claim they received the same guidance and did 2 different things. Kinda like if Texas opens in May and we don't? Make up your mind which talking point you want to go with and quit stepping all over yourself.

Respectfully, you and JBE can quit worrying about the needs of Louisianans.

I hate people that think of politicians as their protective parents.
