Are you trying to instigate? I have tix for Three Dog Night and the Stones. Last year went to festivals, saw Molly Hatchet and other bands, while LA officials tried to have you baws cowering in lockdown.

I'm saying that promoters cancelled Florida concerts. There are still concerts in NOLA going on. Not all of them have been canceled.

it ran off other business and concentrated on tourism. Do you really think that tourism has been even decent paying for the last 18 months?

Are you here in SWFL? It's not like LA, not by a long shot.

"And Latoya will have her hand out for Fed bailout money for the city in a month. "

What is she doing with the money though? She isn't spending it on anything for the city, I can assure you. Is she funneling it to Cuba? I completely would not be surprised.

Are you in NOLA to know what it is like?

Because it seems like your basing your knowledge of what is going on in NOLA on this site.

Jazzfest is goofy anyway. Glad it’s canceled

Well thats it... Just because YOU don't like it then its cool that its canceled.

That's not even the point. The numbers speak for themselves. Louisiana is one of the least vaccinated states and it has one of the highest Covid numbers in the country.

For those who have taken the vaccine, its not our fault other people haven't and if they haven't that's their decision. If they don't care, I sure as hell don't care about them. If the ERs are overfilled then they need to prioritize. People with Covid who hasn't had the vaccine should not be a priority.

Not to mention its outside. Fresh air is always moving. If people want to wear a mask then that's their right, but as long as a vaccine is available everyone is held accountable for their actions, don't cancel it.

I went into two major retail stores this weekend, sans mask, and no one said anything to me. Went to Matherne’s at LSU this afternoon, walked in maskless and experienced the same. Also got takeout from a restaurant yesterday and was not asked to mask up either.

Everyone who heard Jazzfest was being planned for the fall said it would probably be canceled. Now that it is canceled people are surprised.

Should have done like Ultra and just waited until 2022.

IME it is mainly being enforced in the FQ and the Marigny, and in big box stores. Actually only at the door there, after you walk in you can just take it off, they aren't walking through the stores enforcing it or anything.

it's either a) cancelled because of timing/finances and covid is a convenient excuse or b) latoya is front running inside information on lockdowns

Personally I think the priority should be people with health insurance over those on Medicaid
Probably should put smokers & anyone with a BMI over 35 at the bottom of the list too

Because then the promoter wouldn't have wasted all their time/money on promotions and contracts and etc.

I wouldn't risk a plugged nickle on any event taking place in Louisiana in the next year.
