I saw a tweet on this yesterday that said "If history tells us anything, it's that Jay Cutler will get his bag while putting forth as little effort as possible."
It's so true, too.

I’d find it hard to believe he didn’t front a lot of money to get her business really going.

The 34-year-old TV star Cavallari, meanwhile, is said to believe that she doesn't owe any part of 'Uncommon James' to Cutler, alleging that she funded the business,
Any wealth they accumulated while married is shared, sorry honey

But it has to be from earnings made during the marriage.
Not sure where they are getting divorced. I don’t believe TN is a community property state.

Kristin needs to pay spousal support. Jay has become accustomed to a certain lifestyle and it's only fair that she help maintain it.
It's just money, she can always make more.

I know a guy who played football with Cutler at Vandy. This guy was a walkon practice dummy but a very good guy. He was adamant about Jay Cutler being one of the most arrogant pricks on planet earth.

Makes sense of her brand is a business. If you start a business - and now own a business - while married, isn’t the spouse entitled to half the business?

You really want to get pissed off? Read the former spouse protection act.
Let's say an Army Lieutenant gets married to a cheating whore who cheats on him and cleans out his bank account in year 2 and he divorces her. 30 years later he retires as a General. She would be entitled to half his retirement pay per that law.
Yeah, just what I thought - there is NO 1/2 Rule for military pensions. Not even close.

She/He is entitled to THE VALUE of 1/2 of the business at the time of divorce.
He/she doesn't get to sit back and collect 1/2 of the earnings from that business that is made post-divorce from the labor of the other spouse for the rest of his/her life. Otherwise, the owner spouse need only dissolve that business and open up a new post-divorce business doing the same thing.
Again, it's just like someone who becomes a doctor during a marriage.
Let's say that a couple marries right out of undergrad. The husband then goes on to medical school. The wife works and basically supports the couple while the husband is in med school. The day after he graduates, he leaves her for a hot nurse he met while in med school.
Is she entitled to 1/2 his earnings for the rest of his career as a doctor? Of course not. She's basically sh!t out of luck.
Pursuant to state law, some courts will require the husband to pay for the wife to go back and get an advanced degree, but she doesn't get 1/2 (or even a percentage) of his earnings forever.
ETA: This basically happened to the mother of a girl I once dated.

Came here to say this. If they're filing in TN, it should be interesting to say the least.

Good for him. If it were the other way around, she’d be demanding half. Who even buys her shite anyway?

The article I read included this little gem “It will be interesting to see if Cutler gets his way with his unreasonable demands during their divorce.”

He is a hero we don't deserve.
