Jury unanimously came back in less than a half hour. And defendant didn't contest the fact that he did it, he argued insanity....a defense which is almost impossible when one makes the decision to flee as it meant he knew right from wrong.
Well what else can you expect from hyper liberal trash organizations like the MacArthur Center and it’s hyper liberal lawyers who think all cops are bad and all black criminals are angels. They should be ashamed at even wasting their resources on bullshite like this.

If anyone read the article they would see Williams actually defends the process used and has no problem showing why they excluded the jurors. Says there is no bias.
Not defending Williams and his actions, definitely could have not pissed off the chief with this and not looked to be working hand-in-hand with the defense team.

The same MENSA candidate who "didn't know" that a musician hired to play at his inauguration had outstanding criminal charges including child endangerment and domestic abuse? Yeah, there's something to inspire confidence in a new DA.

Then why file a joint motion?
It’s a bullshite excuse after the fact.
Defense counsel alleges racism. If there was no bias as alleged by the article, prosecution would oppose.

That's not how the process works. Defending an untrue allegation on post conviction relief and/or appeal is done by briefing in opposition. It's not done by joining the defense in a motion for a hearing on the issue. That's like the refs signaling touchdown for you, the other team screaming about it, and you agreeing to call it incomplete.
It's so whacky that the Fourth Circuit of all benches denied the joint motion. The District Attorney does not play the role of advocate for Travis Boys and doesn't join his efforts for hearings he isn't legally entitled to for purposes of attacking his conviction.

New Orleans is 60% Black, the jury pool was 55% Black and the jury was ultimately only 42% Black, the appellate attorneys say.
Do you need an ID for jury duty? Perhaps that's the skew?

I have a wealthy HS buddy (Rummel) who moved to Atlanta after Katrina. He used to criticize NOLA - rightfully so - about how dysfunctional the government was. He is about to flee Buckhead in Atlanta because the roving gangs of criminals are not being deterred anymore.

His boy Cedric will make sure of it.

Cedric Richmond? The guy who openly supported Williams’ opponent in the DA race?

I am extremely, extremely dubious that a George Soros backed DA candidate will face any consequences from a Biden Administration.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't both these prosecutions under Jim Letten. Maybe the Feds are just as ambitious and dedicated as they were in what seems like eons ago, or maybe the politicians of New Orleans are paragons of virtue today. Not going to hold my breath.
