A Japan Airlines aircraft carrying more than 300 passengers caught fire while landing at a Tokyo airport Tuesday after a possible midair collision with a Coast Guard aircraft, according to local media.

The plane was seen with flames bursting through its windows on the runway at Haneda International Airport shortly before 6 p.m. local time.

All 379 passengers on the flight were evacuated from the burning aircraft following the crash.

I wonder how many of those 379 tried to grab their luggage on the way out?

My guess is zero.

2024 coming in hot for Japan.

1st an earthquake with tsunami, now dropping planes. Buckle up Japan, it’s looking like a LONG year ahead.

Japan has had worse years no matter what continues in 2024.

Not to mention globohomo beginning the diversity program and making Japan take immigrants they don't want.

They're getting culture and quakes

I’m guessing the Coast Guard plane wasn’t equipped with TCAS.

excellent videos at this link on the Daily Mail.

Shows where the collision happened, as the Airbus was landing, and one engine caught fire. Slides deployed farther down the runway, slides are five persons wide, pictures of people sliding down before the fire in the left most engine spread into the plane and went boom and the whole Airbus burned.

The videos show what happened.

Didn’t realize it was a runway collision. The first stories I read didn’t specify that.

This is the kind of shite that makes people scared of flying. It’s completely out of your control. Yeah driving has a higher risk of accidents, but at least you have a certain amount of control over what happens.
