I heard that too from my doc. Had my first shot 3 weeks ago and had a couple of effects, slightly sore arm and didn't feel good for a day. My immune system is on the weak side, though.

All I remember is the sore arm from the shot. Not much else but it will definitely be sore a fee days.

Thing I’m concerned about is I’ve read the pain can last weeks or months, even a few years after it’s all healed.

Neurogenic pain is real.

Had pretty bad low back pain for years after I had shingles in my 30s.

I got shingles in my early 40s. Fortunately I realized it was coming when my skin felt mildly sore to touch, prior to the actual breakout. I went to a walk in clinic and got antiviral meds plus some gabapentin. That was on a Friday. The rash appeared on Sunday.

“Can’t imagine how bad it hurts for you old farts”

Us “old farts” handle pain much better than you young whippersnappers.
I spent 31 years in ICU,took care of lots of heart surgery pts.and people in all sort of accidents,(auto etc.)
The absolute toughest, were those of the “Greatest Generation”,wouldn’t ask for pain meds, they would refuse them.I could tell they were in pain but I would actually have to talk them into taking something. They tended to be afraid of getting addicted.
The group with lowest pain tolerance were those 40 and below, absolute pussies.I’d give them all I could but if I gave them all they wanted could’ve killed them.

Or if you’ve had the shingles before 60. I has a mild case at 40 and have been meaning to get the shot to avoid another, worse case.

I see a lot of low T soy boys whining about the second shot being rough. I've had both, absolutely no issues with either.

TIL the shingles vax is a shot based on experimental medical science, the shingles shot producers didn't have to reveal their data, it was rushed through the approval process and you can't sue the manufacturer because they have been granted immunity.

Got second shot at Walgreens early this morning (before the drug seekers wake up and start going to the pharmacy) after reading this thread yesterday evening. Not even slight arm soreness. No adverse symptoms at all as of now.

While getting the shot I spent about ten minutes talking to the pharmacist about patients she has seen who got shingles in their eyes and on their faces and in other places, and had fill other prescriptions to try to alleviate terrible symptoms.

Getting the vaccine is entirely worth it.

Nothing better defines the downward slope of our country than the idiots with no science or medical expertise who think that spending 2 hours reading the blogs of psychos with no credentials means they now have more knoweldge about things than the experts at Harvard, Stanford & Johns Hopkins.

The first shot did for me so I didn't take the second.

But I had had two mild cases in the years leading up to it.

Currently between shot 1 and shot 2. The first shot was nothing. No side effects at all. While I haven’t had shingles, I did have chicken pox as a kid. Don’t want that coming back. OP is giving good advice.

Bumping this thread because I just had my first shingles shot. Anyone have any negative symptoms from the first shot? I hope that I didn’t just ruin my weekend.
