Hot take--if Austin wasn't on the track team or competing, he had no business at the tent either.
His brother was on the team of the high school they both attended. I remember when I was in HS and had gone to a few track meets. When football was in Spring practice, when they had a meet at home, it was common for some of the football players to go sit with the track team to watch them as well as other athletes. If baseball practice was over early.. Softball.. whatever was going on.
The track coach was always someone who coached other sports as well and it was common for him to get someone from the other team he helped coach to help out with something.
Just like how in football there are student managers, students who record the games. If the coach allowed it then he had every right to be there.

His was a Tanto tip knife. Not very common and it is specifically designed for killing.

All I know is that if I, personally, am running I'm probably in need of a knife.
Same and possibly oxygen if it goes on for very long.

Defending the knife wielding 17 year does not even merit a response for there is an absence of a moral compass. The culture of tribalism at its finest.

It is what it is. The black community has a serious issue with violence. Im glad there are some awesome black folks out there that dont fit that description...but unfortunately that doesnt change that the rest of the black community has some serious issues to work out

Reading through this thread, I can see how it's possible his goal was to get into their team area to go through their belongings to steal shite.
His father will probably get on talk shows "Now ya see that boy called him the hard R, so he defended hisself!"

Apologies for the fake news. The DC stabbings a Tanto tip knife was used. I saw a picture of it and misremembered which murderer used it.

No worries
That would have been an interesting twist in the story
