I can't believe people think that was a great bar
Like honestly can't believe it

There is one chunky blonde that has been working there for at least 10 years it seems. She always struck me as being kind of a bitch...but oh well.
I know who you're taking about. She was pretty good looking 10 years ago. Time's been rough.
Glad the bar sold. Never really a fan of Quigly. Hopefully it's a change for the better.

Good. That bar fricking sucked. Shitty service , no itemized receipts, and dirty tap lines.
I agree.
Good chicken wings though.
I for some reason loved the expensive dump.
Fought a Mexican in there once.

Im excited for the change. They need to throw 10k into that place at the minimum. Charge reasonable prices for beer and it could be an awesome spot.

Love that bar, but mainly due to tradition. That is my neighborhood and every Christmas, Thanksgiving, and St. Patties I am there with all my favorite friends and family getting shite housed.
Some serious memories created and lost in that place.
However, there are accurate complaints in this thread. The tap lines are horrendous. Makes the beer taste like mildew. Their prices are absurd. I've never had them put random drinks on my tab, but I think people assume they are due to non-itemized receipts and absurd prices.
They also need to clean it up in general and maximize the potential of the outdoor area. They could have a killer patio, but don't do shite out there.
I hope it keeps the dark and local dive bar feel though. I want the ghost of the original Ivars to live on, but be modernized at the same time. Tough task, we'll see what happens.

One of my pet peeves at nicer establishments. Chimes East for a good 6 months had the most sour bud light draft. Surprising.
Who's the new owner? I saw the FB post say Chad Hughes. Is he currently a bar owner?

Doesn't surprise me, the last time I went there a double Makers and water was $16. Figured they were struggling. Hate to see the old watering hole close, but it needs some work! Hopefully the new owner will shut it down and make it right!

Those lines have been nasty since I was there in '02-'05. It's a shame that is still a problem.
Posted on 7/28/14 at 9:16 am to LSURoss
It's really absurd how bad the draft beer is there, would say the need to clean the lines and replace the system but people still pour in there to drink it and the 4.50 domestic bottles

I'll be there often if the new owners can turn it around and fix the problems listed here.
I always did like the food, as far as bar food goes.

Exactly, Make that side room in the front useable then add some new tvs and new pool table.
Sell $2/3 PBR or high life

That place was a shithole 20 years ago. Can't imagine how bad it is now.

1. Too high of drink prices

I can't really argue with you on these but the other two??

5. I was always too drunk to notice my ticket or keep up with the receipt so I don't know how much they stiffed me, but i am sure they did
You are complaining about tap lines even though you a have never ordered a beer there? OK..
Maybe you shouldn't get so shitfaced to where you don't even know what you should be being charged? You are just "sure" they stiffed you even though you were blackout.
One of my friends was a bar tender there for a while and always hooked us up. I guess knowing the right people always helps since everybody here complains about the price of drinks

They have some of the best sammiches.
And I loved them pizzas late at night all drunk.
I never drank draft there. always buckets of bud light and shots of wild turkey 101 straight up.
Haven't been in forever though.
