I had a dog that used to do this. Only thing, he'd lay down when he got done. And the ONLY way he'd keep going is if you turned around and went the way you came. We had a 3 or so mile loop. If he got done 1/4 from home, boom... he'd lay down and you have to do the entire 2 3/4 miles that you just did, which he did happily.

My air conditioned seats were just getting cool when I had to stop to get gas.
I usually remote start my truck 10 minutes before I’m ready to leave to let the ac run before I get in the truck
