re: It's probably been covered before, but has any fast-food chain fallen as hard as KFC?

Drove through a Burger King the other day and ordered a Whopper meal. They said, " Oh, by the way, we are out of lettuce. Is that OK?"

How the hell does a burger joint run out of lettuce? Last trip to BK for me.

Burger King. Seems like years ago at one point they were trying to challenge McDonald’s. Whopper was an awesome burger. Now it seems like every Burger King is a ghetto.

The non ghetto ones are still good. While back, in a pinch to eat quick, we stopped at the BK off Sherwood.
Scary, legit did not feel safe.
The BKs around the northshore are legit.

KFC was good back in the 70’s when I was a kid. No way that I would eat that shite now.

Haven't eaten there in years, but do crave it from time to time.

I think it might be the largest fast food chain in China.

IMO Wendy's has the be the bigger downfall. In the 90's and early 2000's Wendy's had elite spicy chicken sandwiches, burgers and even the grilled chicken salad that came with the breadstick. I have tried it a couple times over the last 5 years and its inedible.

I was a huge fan of Wendy’s Chili, but as with everything else. Hold on to your wallet when ordering.

I used to love the family size order it was about the size of a gallon or half gallon of ice cream.

The one in Houma tried to pass me 4 large Chili’s as the same size and it was no where near the same and cost a lot more.

The original chicken is really good if the store properly carmelizes it.

If they don't, it is poor.

Definitely a store thing. My nearest one is pretty solid. I go there instead of the nearby canes for tenders. I’ve always thought their chicken sandwich is better than Popeyes too.

I never did like their chicken or how they cooked it. I like a nice crispy crust on my fried chicken and KFC misses the boat in that respect.

The fact that the burger kings in Baton Rouge sell enough food to even pay the electric bill fascinates me. The Burger King on bluebonnet near Burbank is one example. I pass by at breakfast, lunch and dinner hours and it’s never busy. It’s a huge mystery to me.

I used to sorta like it as a kid into young adulthood. Made a conscious decision to retire it from my rotation in 2005ish. Along with lesser fast food options like Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s, etc.

Made it all the way to 2023 when I visited Dubai for work. They were excited to call in KFC for lunch one day since I was their honored guest. It was every bit as average as I remembered.

Fun fact, Church’s Chicken is called Texas Chicken in Middle East.

I notice a lot of the fast food places that seem to be dead or dying in the US sort of flourishing in other countries, maybe a better yield and they've given up on the US market?

Hell, I stopped at a McDonald's one night, and they were out of both patties and buns.

Al had to buy Churches just to get the physical locations.

It didn't work out, but shooters shoot.

I always liked them pretty well, but I went there last night and couldn't eat any of it. It was awful.

Make it yourself at home. Thank me later.

Their mashed potatoes and gravy are good. That’s about it.
