Congrats though, you’re moving from one shithole to another!

The Ozarks area in Missouri isn't a shithole for the most part. Underrated area of the country

I just came back to the Ms delta from a long weekend on Lake Hamilton.

I know how you feel. Unfortunately I can’t move due to my work but maybe one day I’ll make enough money to move and not worry about work

Was hoping this was the woke folks had outlawed the State’s name due to the affiliation with the Bourbons and their wantonly wicked ways.

I am disappointed.

Very much underrated similar to the Texas Hill country, which is also underrated.

People think Louisiana is so great, and don’t get me wrong, it is UNIQUE. And certainly special. But when it comes to living a good life, unique does not equate to great. And you WILL NOT understand this until you get so fed up that you finally leave. Or get a glimpse into a better life. That’s when you realize how NICE everyday life can be. Less crap schools, better paying jobs, better roads, better infrastructure, more educated people, less crime, just overall so much NICER way of life, where you can actually see where your tax dollars are going, new business, beautiful scenery, ect. Good food (which, with globalization, there’s good food everywhere now) and culture are simply NOT good enough reasons to stay in a dying state any longer. The education alone in Louisiana is enough reason to leave, if not the crime, if not the crap pay. There is a better life out there. And people need to seize it if for NO other reason than to force Louisiana to finally get its act together….which probably won’t happen bc #louisiana

My mom grew up in Ozarks area of Missouri. I think it's nice. We went up there a few years ago for a funeral.

The only regret you will have is why you waited so long.

I guess it depends on your age. There is no job opportunities or really any economy. But I guess it could be a cool place to retire to.

My wife was always the holdout. I tried to move the family to NC in 2007 and she shut it down.

She told me a few months ago that she'd be fine with leaving now asap so we started putting some things in motion but it might be a bit of a process.

Those are often the most desirable retirements spots, as undesirable demos don't show up

Where would you go in the Ozarks?
That covers a lot of geography…
