Why do people still live in that city? I used to like going down there every now and then especially when I was younger. There is no reason to even visit now, much less live there.

It wont matter either way

the businesses closed, population moving away, traditions lost and collapse of the commercial real state marke driven by tourism cant be fixed with federal money

Who cares. If you are concerned, don’t go. Let everyone who wants to have fun, enjoy themselves

Democrats. Have no idea the dire straits financially the city of Nola is in. Wait till basic city services are cut by 80%

The direction we are still going in legitimately has me worried about continuing to build my career in this city. I don't know how many more poor decisions this city can withstand after being shut down for almost a year.

How about....

No offense, but I wish people would quit using the word "federal". That is money taken from people that work. That is my money, my kid's money, and my poor grandkid's money.

If I had some change, March 2021 is going to be a great time to buy up commercial real estate

If you can afford to hold it for 5 years maybe. Who is going to want to bring business here in the short term?

The scariest thing about the entire Covid deal is that fact that single individuals have the clear ability to absolutely destroy a city/state economy, destroy millions of livelihoods, businesses, etc, and do so with little to no pushback.

Be fun to watch NOLA economy tank even further and voters will still elect mayor's like what you have.

RIP NOLA

Jazz Fest cancellation is all but guaranteed now too Mo

Jazz fest as a ticketed private event stands some chance of a heavily modified version. Large socially distanced concerts are happening now and giving them some proof of concept. I don’t think you see 100k packed into the fairgrounds but could see something fill it’s place

The only cuts will be to NOPD. Toya took like 7 months to reduce any city employee salary, and only did it by 10%, and as far as I am aware she is still taking her whole salary. A large portion of the city has lost not only their jobs but some their entire career, and her and her crew are still living life like normal.

I have never hated someone as much as I hate her.
