Yep

Notice how the U of Maryland folks are now gone. I knew that wouldn't last long.

That's SOP for life insurance companies. Not surprised.

After the BIG insurance payouts from WTC, a new total terrorism exclusion popped up in standard property policies. You can still get that coverage, but you pay more for it.

War/civil insurrection exclusions have been around for a while (but they were not tight enough for the WIC claim, which is why the terrorism exclusion was created).

Well, you don't do it without your fez on.

I'm not surprised at them balking on having to pay every time there's a claim, that's what they do, but witnessing the planes being flown into the trade center/Pentagon/ground, creates an extenuating circumstance, and as I said, it wasn't just life insurance, the company was completely turning their back on the survivors

Seriously though it would be better than pepper spray and rubber bullets but nope, fire hoses are racist.

we've got specific wording in our policies to include such acts because of the realistic threat associated with the job

As was noted, there could have been people that were supposed to be in the WTC that morning that weren't. Wife says he was there, but he's actually sitting across the table from her planning their retirement to a Caribbean island while she weeps to the State Farm rep. She's got to present something to them to get paid (because, if she does, and the company finds out, there's all sort of great criminal charges that can be brought against her and the "dead" husband).

It's a tough thing, no doubt, but just because there is a tragedy does not mean insurance companies should just ignore contractual requirements/limitations that their policyholders agreed to.

Just saw the highlights of the President's speech. What a crock of shite. If Obama had any intestinal fortitude, he would jump his happy arse in a car and take that hour drive up to Baltimore and shut this shite down. Democrats claimed he was going to be great for race relations. Here is the perfect opportunity for him to step up and prove it. At what point are we going to stop playing this liberal/conservative game and do what is right.

I think some folks thought our social problems of yesteryear would be absolved by electing him.
