He died on September 6 in 07. Won't be another one like him. Here are a couple of youtube videos. The first one is magnificent.

Pavarotti shows up at the Pearly Gates, St. Peter: Oh it's you Luciano, I can just squeeze you in! God, here's that tenor I owed you.

actually he owed him half a dozen tenors but Luicianno was the equal of six.

What’s the difference between Pavarotti and Liberace?

Pavarotti had a great voice but sucked on a piano.
Liberace was great on the piano but sucked on an organ.

You're better than this, 777. I'd expect that from the gnome.

I can’t believe it’s been three days since Burt Reynolds died.

Pavarotti was one of the greatest, but there have been other great tenors.
Andrea Bocelli is still with us. Vittorio Grigolo is a young and extremely talented guy. You also have three special kids in Il Volo.

Reminds me of a story actually.

Seaman Jones here is into music in a big way, and he views this whole boat as his own personal, private stereo set. Well, one day he's got this piece of Pavarotti. So anyway, he's got this music out in the water, and he's listening to it on his headsets, and he's just happy as a clam. And then all hell breaks loose. See, there's this whole slew of boats out in the water, including one way the hell out at Pearl. All of a sudden, they start hearing, Pavarotti coming out their asses.

How the hell do you make this thread without one of his Nessun Dorma/Turandot performances.

It was Paganini. Pavarotti was a tenor, Paganini was a composer.

He also performed with Barry White. Gave the phrase 2 giants of the stage a new meaning. LINK
