I, for one, still think it's tricking awesome that we can travel in the air safely over 100+ miles an hour for thousands of miles.

His mouth isn't moving on the video. Downvote.

I don't know why but his thread got me thinking, do they still offer transatlantic trips by sea?

They certainly do: LINK

Did Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro cruise in November

Flew ATL - JNB which was just under 15 hours. Slept large amount of time, flight felt like a 4 hour flight

They had the Concorde, which made international flights much faster. The problem was that it was about $10,000 a ticket round trip. And that was years ago.

I took an 9 hour flight from Honolulu to Atlanta over the summer, wasn't bad at all. I'd rather go 13 hours then have to wait in LA for 4 hours again

I flew AA once and that was the last time, Delta is far superior to AA

What made it so much more expensive? Fuel? Maintenance? Pilot training / pay to go supersonic? Liability?

? But that bitch blew up, and people remember that shite. It was over 80 years ago when Germany's Hydrogen ballon caught fire, and we are just now getting those back.

Delta is very bad. American and United are not much better.

SWA is my favorite airline hands down. I like the no assigned seats because I would rather have some choice as to who I am going to sit by than to have an assigned seat.

I fly maybe 30 round trips a year. Rarely internationally but I did go to Shanghai this year MSY-ORD-PVG.

BEST THING I HAVE EVER BOUGHT MYSELF for travel were the Bose noise cancelling headphones!! They are $300 and I am the very last person you would think would spend that for headphones but I love them. If you fly often get you some. Screaming kids on plane? put on the headphones. Loud passengers--put on the headphones.

They are great.

I was looking to buy these, I have a good pair but they're nothing compared to the bose. I might pull the trigger and buy them this year.

I really am surprised at how much I enjoy those.

One thing I cannot do however is listen to audio books. If I can't sleep on a plane I put on the headphones and try to listen to some audio book. Asleep very shortly after starting that!!

To each their own but I don't fly SWA unless I am forced. I am about 90% delta and they treat me very well. All 4 flights today (MSY-ATL-DCA-JFK-MSY) were upgraded. I have a pre assigned seat, plenty space, power outlets, and anything I need.

I do wish I traveled a few more international flights but only if I am in the front. To hell with that in the back.
