And I get that, but the sidewalk in that area is really big, at least twice the size of your average sidewalk. Almost as if they want you to ride on it. It's the same size as the Natchez Trace Parkway, and people ride their bikes in it.

There are literal bike paths where I live and it is not safe to ride them as a legitimate cyclist. So much so that the local government is working to make the roads themselves better for cyclists even though they've already got the trails. Its bad for you and those taking a leisurely ride with their kids. A bike going 20 mph on a sidewalk with pedestrians is dangerous. Plus, they'd have to stop at every light, crosswalk, etc.. And if the stories of every cyclist blatantly breaking the law are true , then you have even more law breaking and danger going on.

Its perfectly safe to ride on the road as long as everyone follows the law. Cyclists definitely dont always follow it, but cars can be just as shitty.

In some cases yes.....

The most important thing is for cyclist to be predictable in their movment and actions.
