No inventory and the new design is polarizing.

That way you can spend the other $45k on repairs, tow trucks and rentals while your Ford is in the shop.

dude its so funny. Idiot complain abotu inflation and god forbid you finanace something at below 2% for as long as possible.

The OT really has become a place full of idiots and hypocrites and full of shite

Complains about fat acceptance...yet 85% of board is in the overweight or obese catagory and constantly complains BMI does not apply to them

Complains of people not being successful...yet constantly talks about how getting a degree isnt worth it....despite the facts.

complains about kids not being successful....yet complains of helicopter parents if the parents do anythign to make sure they are successful

complains about people having high debt and student loan debt.....yet tells parents to cut the cord

Every OTer is making 350k yet constantly complains about things like travel ball and how much it cost or how much vehicles cost

Constantly talks about how good with money they are, yet in times of record iniflation says anyone who finances a car is dumb...despite all of the facts saying the prudent and wise choice is to finance for as long as possible and invest your cash flow.

this board has become over run by mouth breathing idiots and has honestly become a reflection of the state as a whole.

I'd never buy a Range Rover. But they are designed with the intent of being over the top luxurious

You've already contradicted yourself. Range Rover is a Luxury Off Road vehicle. That's the reason for it's original creation and the design we know today.

I can get an F250 with rubber floors and vinyl bench seats, or pay 50k more and get a top of the line. I cannot do that with any true luxury brand.

Yeah they make "base" versions and luxury versions. The Platinum and Denali series are very much built with "luxury" in mind.

I drive a base model F150. I just ain't pretending it's big brother is a luxury vehicle. I live in an area where I see Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches, on a daily basis. So maybe I have a different view on it than others, but I never see a GMC truck and think, oooooohhhh that's so luxurious.

Yup, and that’s why I’m still cruising around in my 2003 F-150 with 275k miles. Gonna keep that thing till the wheels fall off. Coincidentally, it’s in the shop as we speak. Lol

While making assumptions regarding the top of the line vehicles that are absolutely untrue.

Trucks are daily drivers and suburban wife vehicles as much as an SUV today.

But what "luxury brand" makes everyday trucks?

Dude that's a top of the line Denali and it looks like a 4x4 2500HD.... Did you expect it to be in the 30's...?

When I say "regular" I mean, not a luxury brand vehicle that always had a premium cost to it. This is a GMC.

GMC has been the GM "Premium" Truck brand for a LONG time.
Denali always has a premium cost to it.

Trucks are retardly priced, but the Baws keep buying them to show their status.

You should see boat prices right now.. Holy shite!

Pickups of yesterday had pwr steering, pwr breaka, auto and A/C.

They didn't have leather seats with cooling and heating, mid fi stereo, etc.

Unions (huaaahhh, UNION) don't help.

My F150 Platinum can park itself, massage me while I'm driving down the road, stay in its lane and maintain whatever following distance I want, and has higher quality materials on pretty much every surface of the interior than your truck. You simply don't know what new high end trucks are like if you think Maserati is anything special

It's no Range Rover, but it is every bit as luxurious as a typical Porsche, Audi, Lexus, and any Benz with a similar price point. You know BMW, Mercedes, etc all make vehicles that are sub $40k, right?

The premise of a Range Rover is to be luxurious while at the same time being utility. And let's not leave out that they full intend for you to pay a little extra just behind the name (prestige). Same thing with any of the other examples you provided. So I stand behind my comment that you're confusing prestige with luxury.

quote:

A truck is designed to tow and haul.
On the outside. On the inside, most trucks have the feel of any other luxury vehicle. That's where the breakthrough occurred quite a few years ago. Which is why you see so many more trucks on the road these days.

You're going off your impression of a pickup from 30 years ago.

It’s not even debatable. No one outside of your local southern trash town looks at a GMC, whether Denali or not, and thinks “luxury”

Well, the average household income in my area is higher than any zip in Louisiana. A much higher proportion of the population has a college degree than in most places in the south. And I'm far enough north to see the northern lights occasionally.

And I couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Yukon Denali.

We make more than enough to own a top of the line truck. I just didn't buy one because I don't see the point for me. I use my truck to haul lumber for my woodworking hobby, etc. If I want luxury, I'm buying a second vehicle and keeping the truck. I have plenty of friends who have their baw'd out King Ranch or Platinum F250. I don't even view my wife's Audi as some super car. It cost us less than our old Tahoe. However, I'm familiar with the ownership experience. It's different.

It is obvious that he's ignorant about it. And I don't mean ignorant as in insult. I mean literally ignorant about it.
