The used vehicle market isn't much better.
I just had to buy a commuter car since my company took away my work truck and it took me a few weeks to locate a reasonably priced used car.

You're a dumbass if you consider this a "regular" truck. Its loaded to the gills. A "regular" truck is half that price.

So you havent seen the market on used trucks?

The interiors of the GM vehicles are so plain. Even the $70K vehicles look like work trucks on the inside

if i'm paying 80k for a vehicle, it's either going to
1. possibly appreciate
or
2. go really, really fast
now that particular market is facing inflation, too, but you can still get a GTR in that range

That's a fully loaded Denali diesel with four wheel drive, an extremely powerful engine, a full sized cab, and every tech feature available in a pickup truck today.
Denali is the most popular luxury brand in the US automobile landscape BTW. GMC, on the other hand, is not a luxury brand.
You can seriously get a GMC Sierra for less than half that price, but you are going to have to check fewer option boxes. And leave the Denali versions at the dealer.

I’ve never spent more than $10,000 on a vehicle and have zero plans to.

In this thread:
People who think paying cash for a depreciating asset is the only way to do it while simultaneously thinking inflation is going to run rampant.

It’s not a luxury brand but that’s definitely a luxury truck

They are wildly popular for something that looks like "hammered shite".

Hell the way this administration is going. Your going to have to prove a need for a truck and then pay higher than hell taxes. We will be like London. Look at what it costs to own a car in that shithole.

gotta find that sweet spot and just try to avoid the biggest depreciation event
at this point in the car market, i think you should polarize your range. either buy low level shite or premium

Bought both of my trucks in 2020. They are both worth way more than I paid for them and one was a slightly used 2018 model when I bought it.

yeah but we all know this isn't a real market event and is a short-term supply chain lag issue. but it's definitely an arbitrage opportunity IF you can find a replacement vehicle that hasn't suffered from that event
i'm going to start contacting families of people i see in the obits to try to snag a deal and if i can, i'm selling my car during this bubble

Regular trucks like your basic Tacoma seem to be going for around $35,000 right now.
I really regret selling my old Frontier 5 years ago.

Gonna start seeing 15-20 year truck financing at those prices soon

Not a regular truck. Denali has always been one of if not the most expensive, high feature trucks available since they started selling them.
ETA: The ones next year are going to drive themselves while trailering. Is that a feature you NEED or a feature you WANT?

A brand new GTR cost anywhere from 113k to 215k depending on trim level. Not exactly 80k.
