I grew up in Houma and we didn't have AC at Broadmoor school until I was in the 4th or 5th grade. Around 1976 OR 1977.

I’m 46 and still play outside including rounds of golf mid day. Is it hot, yes. Does it stop me from having a good time. No.

August 2011 DFW had 42 days of consecutive 100 degree + temps. I was working an internship at Vought Aerostructures and had to walk .75 miles to and from my parking spot every morning and afternoon. Brutal summer

Back then you were used to the heat, but modern amenities have made people become accustomed to AC, cooling zones, etc.

How far back are we talking?

I grew up in the 80's/90's and we had AC everywhere except outside obviously.

While this heat wave isn't causing me any issues, it most definitely feels way hotter and has felt this way much longer than I remember my previous 38 years of life.

In 2012 San Antonio had over 70 straight days of 100 degree heat. It’s always been this, we just have more pussys on plantet earth now that bitch about everything.

Saying crap like this doesn't prove anything, or at least it doesn't prove what you think it proves, because.....and it may surprise you to learn this......San Antonio is not, in fact, southern Louisiana.

And it is "pussies", ya twat.

My first car, 1981 f150 single cab w black vinyl seats and no A/C. That sucker was HOT in the summer. Windows stayed down, even during the rain!

It’s the hottest summer in most of our lifetimes, simple as that. It’s an anomaly.

And you would be wrong. The heat this year is record breaking true; but the record was set back in 1922 in Louisiana. When I bought my house back in 1999 or so we had a heat wave like this because of an El Nino; could not get enough water to grow grass. Every time there is an El Nino, we get big hot dry air over the US and hurricanes are typically pushed out in the Atlantic instead of making landfall.
