re: It appears that GM will be changing the interiors of the Silverado and Sierra in 2021
it's not really about the screen itself imo, but the design and layout, quality of materials used, proper stitching and panel gaps, as well as the overall feel of the interior.

Because you will replace the motor and transmission 3 times before you need to replace either on the GM.

Well the 6 speeds, not sure about the new GM 8 speeds.

GM still hasn’t gotten the 8 speed right. And they’re having issues with the new cylinder shut down stuff.

The ford interior has way too much hard plastic.

I’ve never understood this criticism. Why do I care if my dashboard is hard plastic? I’m not laying down on it.

I have a 2017 F150 and don't find the interior to feel cheap except for the little caps/covers on the 110 outlets in the front and back seats. Those feel pretty flimsy.

I initially looked at the new GMC truck. Exterior wise, especially for the rear tailgate, it’s the best looking truck.

But that’s about it. No rear A/C (important for Louisiana) and the interior looks like I am back in the late 80’s with a Chevy Silverado.

Ended up choosing ‘19 Ram Limited. Has all the bells and whistles including 22” wheels, Ram Box and full panoramic sunroof. Rear A/C vents and even cooled seats for front and back.

Rides great with air suspension. Only issue I have had is with power mirrors not retaining their memory setting.

Interior is the best looking of any truck and almost any SUV.

First I have heard of any problems but the 19+ trucks are a completely different AFM scheme.

Were you looking at older model? All the 19+ trucks have rear vents.

My memory goes back to the Cadillac 4-6-8 fiasco of the 80s.

I remember working on those things. I think it was all done with vacuums or springs back then

The amount of vacuum lines on cars in the early 80's was insane. The 8-6-4 added a few more miles.

That’s all the extra stuff I’d be worried would break right after warranty expires.
