Saudi has no problems with Gaza being flattened.
KSA’s aligned nations are Egypt, Jordan, etc, who are currently in good relations with Israel.
Iran’s aligned nations and shitheads include Gaza / Westbank (Palestinians), Hezbollah (Lebanon), Syria, Iraq, etc.
KSA won’t cut a deal while this is going on but I think they have no problems telling Israel where to hit or making a deal once this has blown over.

Yep. My fiancés dad is from Iran. I’ve gotten to be around a lot of Iranians because of her family and they’re some of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. Never heard a bad thing said about the Persian people. It’s the government that fricking sucks

My ex boss was in college when a lot of that happened. Apparently she, her twin sister, and numerous other women were getting constantly chased by Iranian students desperate to get married and not get deported when relations broke down.

It's not quite that extreme and risk-averse. From a political perspective, more so; the tactical decision makers, not quite that bad, but it's definitely a cold hard decision.
From the bystanders' perspective, it's "well, why don't we just send in 'special forces' to rescue them." <---- That's not actually an overestimation of capability. That's an overestimation of the probability of success. The capability (and things that are almost certainly happening right now) is way beyond what most people realize...and yet, rescue/recovery is unlikely. THAT's how tough it is to pull it off.

I doubt any operations will be successful due to the geography of Gaza (a big arse city with people living on top of each other). Hope I am wrong and I hope all Delta/SEAL operators return home safe.

It’s a death trap and there’s almost zero chance of a rescue operation. There’s about 1000% chance that Hamas is now using these prisoners as bait to ambush and kill the rescuers on the off chance that someone is stupid enough to give it a shot. I doubt many, if any, of these hostages make it out alive. Their only hope is some sort of negotiated ransom deal or a trade for Hamas POWs in Israel. And I’m guessing the chance of Israel doing that is about zero.

Yep. Israel, I suspect, is going to operate under the assumption the hostages are dead. If Hamas thinks the hostages will work as a human shield, they will be wrong.
