You know, the Jews would not be having this problem if they had obeyed the Lord and destroyed or pushed out all of the Cananites back in the day. They were a cursed people and their descendants still are. They had specific instructions to destroy them or push them out of the lands they were promised.....and they didn't. Forever in turmoil is the consequence. Just a thought.

After Israel forcibly removed its citizens from Gaza and moved out, the needed items were allowed to come into it along with more allowed border crossings; and PA had more control over its side of the borders. Hamas kept digging tunnels and attempting stuff including the time not even a year after Israel moved out of gaza when they ended killing some soldiers and kidnapping another - Gilad Shalit.
As soon as Hamas took control Egypt closed its borders just like Israel.
Though not as many Egypt has had people killed from terrorists entering from Gaza. Been shot at from people inside Gaza. They also have to deal with tunnels.
Egypt has really only had one govt in 21st century that was pro-hamas and pro-palestinian that allowed palestinians to cross their border relatively freely, and Egypt’s military overthrew them after 2 years.
Besides closing tunnels, trying to build underground barriers to tunneling, and increasing buffer zone like Israel did Egypt has filled tunnels on their Gaza border with sea water, sewage, and poisonous gas killing some. The Palestinian Authority supported Egypt in many of their efforts to stop the tunneling, but they weren’t in control of Gaza.
