There's reports that they might be pretty close to at least a temporary cease fire in Lebanon. Lots of issues to work out but they seem much closer to getting something done in the north than in Gaza.

While they seem to have taken a good bite out of Hezbollah, I would say Hamas. What that means in absolute terms, I don’t follow in quite enough detail to say.

I give this ceasefire a week. Hezbollah are acting like they've won WW2. The geniuses in Iran will invariably have Hezbollah do something stupid, and it will be on again.

At least in the north there is a mostly legitimate state actor on the other side in Lebanon. The Lebanese government doesn’t actually want a war or its people to suffer. If the negotiations were just hezbollah and Israel no deal would happen.
Thats the problem with Gaza - there is no legitimate state voice on the other side. It’s Israel and Hamas. A deal with Hamas isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
As for the deal in the north who knows. Maybe this time it will hold.
