I like our pastor, but he leans left. Not unrelatedly, he’s hardcore about the masks and other precautions.

He’s strict about spacing. You have to sign up for your Mass time, in advance, and provide email address and phone number. You have to take your temperature before Mass. You have to wear your mask the entire time in church.

He spent 15 minutes before Mass going over all of the rules and why it’s important. He came very close to saying you are a bad person if you don’t gladly follow these strict rules.

Needless to say, I was more than a little disappointed in him.

Just curious.
St. Pius in Lafayette is not requiring it.

Is your church St. Mary Magdalen?

You cannot go to church to praise the Lord, claim you fully trust Him yet be afraid of COVID. It’s 100% contradictory.

Wow. Deep thoughts.
I might go to church and then go walk down the middle of the road playing frogger with cars just to see if my God loves me.

It's not required but it's definitely strongly encouraged.

No masks required last week when modified services resumed. At least AFAIK. I’m out of town, but I believe it was social distancing, overflow areas with livestream for the particularly sensitive, and plenty of Karens running around wringing their hands.

Ours is a Baptist church with a median age around 60, lots of folks ages 75+ with health issues, so it’s probably the one place where congregants should be a little more cautious.

Large Presbyterian church in Birmingham checking in. Not required, but the missus and I are wearing one from the entry door, to our seats. We have not worn masks at any time during this pandemic.

The marriage of Christianity and Republicanism might be the most important socio-political event of the last half century.
