Mav, you act as if Africans were the only race ever to be enslaved. That there is no return to normal life after an atrocity like this. All races have been on the shitty end and Africans have just been the most recent. Why does African history start on the slave ships? More than likely you were slaves on your native continent. Your ancestors got the wrong end of the deal but today you have a great opportunity in front of you because of their plight. Trace Your roots back to Africa where your ancestors are originally from and see how they are doing today. If it's better you can always return, if not you live in the best country in the world no matter black, white, yellow, red.

You make zero sense at this point.

Not my issue to solve. Blacks didn't create the problem of white supremacy, we just suffer from it.

Well, if all things are equal, education and experience-wise, a black male has a hell of a lot better chance getting a job in my field than a white male since most of the jobs are in government, and the government tends to favor minorities in employment. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion, if all things are equal...well, unless you take into account that it's probably a race-based decision either way at that point, which is wrong.

Saying someone has "White Privilege" is passing the blame. It's saying that an entire group of people are holding you back, whether they want to or not. No one is going to tell me that I'm holding someone back just because of my skin color. If the time ever comes where the better man gets passed over for me because I'm a white man, I'll make that right (assuming I know a more qualified person was passed over).

Until that time, I refuse to believe that my white skin has benefited me more, especially when their are scholarships for minorities only, bias in hiring towards minorities, and specific programs geared towards minorities in my field. Sounds like the benefit is to be a minority in this day and age, whether that be black, hispanic, or female.
