Right. That's kind of my point. West has definitely been the most dominant when you see how the world is right now. I don't think any one can reasonably refute that. I'm just saying that it's harder for us to get perspective on the significance of outside cultures.

I mean, can it even be argued otherwise? Comprised of subcultures from Great Britain, France, Scandinavia, German, Austrian, Russian, American, Spanish, Greek, and Italian.
Because lumping all of the accomplishments of all of the civilizations of Europe in all of history together isn't broad enough.

Well, the Huns left Asia in the 4th Century - their widespread holdings lasted 1 to 2 generations and they, effectively, died with Atilla.
The Mongols were robust and had a fairly dominant culture within their sphere of influence - they heavily influenced Chinese and Russian history, but stopped upon their entry into Europe proper. While they influenced Europeans of the day, it's hard to argue for any superiority - Europe attempted to stop squabbling to face the Mongol threat, but succession disputes among the Great Khan's heirs ended up stopping their European conquest before it started in earnest - hard to see it as their lines of communication were stretched pretty thin at that point.
Alexander and Rome left permanent marks in Asia and Africa. The Chinese don't make their own products, they make Western products cheaply for export. They wear blue jeans, spend all their time on their smart phones and playing console games. In the post-WWII era, Japan is essentially a Western country. Same for Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.
Australia is a Western colony. I mean, although it is arguable they have a blended culture, even Central/South America is heavily Western because of Spain/Portugal.

With regards to China I will throw out that the Europeans gained the advantage with the colonization on the new world and the boon to their economies that created. Then England got pretty much all of China hooked on opium.
