While they were very important, early on, with their innovations in stone working, medicine, mathematics, cartography, maritime, etc., they faded quickly in the shadow of Greek, Macedonian and Roman advances.

If anything the early Indian and Chinese cultures have had more longstanding impacts than Egyptian (and Mesopotamian/Sumerian/Babylonian). And Persia's role as the bridge between East and West shouldn't be underestimated, although they are unlikely to rank with Egypt and China, long-term.

But, without the racial connotations, I agree with the OP - specifically "Western" - European-centered culture appears to be the overall winner to date. Those nations, particularly England(UK), France, Spain and the Netherlands, by the end of the Renaissance sailed every sea, strode every soil, colonized every continent and spread their language, religion and culture to the four corners of the globe - the only ancient contemporary was Alexander, himself one of the foundation figures of this Western culture.

I would think that it isn't seriously in dispute. The only possible argument is that the U.S., being the epitome of all of this - while an extension of this Western Culture, is really an amalgamation of all cultures, as we number among us every race, every ethnicity, every spoken language and some examples of almost every living culture on Earth - the whole is greater than the sum of the parts in our case.

But still tough to overcome that, at its core, the U.S. was founded as a Western nation - an extension of Europe.

Hell, look at the socio political structure of SE asia before WW2 and after. They adopted a shitload of euro culture to remain economically competetive

White euro culture is classified as a cultural group, with many sub-cultural groups within.

I think the advances of eastern cultures are largely ignored in our education as they developed largely independently.
