Is wearing a mask an expression of your belief in statism?

Or, in other words, a show of support of a big government having control over your personal life/ space?

No, it’s an expression of my desire to grocery shop, eat at a restaurant, etc etc.

Seems to be. Seems almost divided along political lines, as well.

Yes because no business will let you in without one.

Just yesterday at lunch I was telling someone that I think ma’am wearing is as much about virtue signaling as it is health concerns these days.

No people aggressively for and against masking are a very small portion of the population
Most people literally don't care at all and will wear a mask if needed to get their shite done without making a scene.
Just like if they go to a friend's house they probably won't be wearing a mask, they have common sense and can read the crowd

I am. Just last week at the resort in Florida, no one had masks on in the restaurant except those who were working.
So, explain how wearing a mask gets you “into a grocery or restaurant.”
Seems like it’s a sign to others that you will resist!

No, just put it on when you go to the market or wherever.
All you idiots arguing and yelling at people that the mask is unconstitutional are ridiculous.

If a business requires a mask I’ll wear one out of respect for their policy or I won’t shop there. They have the right to require one and I have the right to choose where to shop. Otherwise I’m not wearing one because every scientific study I’ve read says they don’t do anything for the most part. Especially paper masks worn incorrectly, cloth masks worn for days without washing, etc....
I wash my hands constantly and i social distance. Someone with a custom made cloth mask they haven’t washed in days is worse off than I am. For a multitude of reasons.
Society is extremist and reactionary and it’s just getting exhausting. I’m tired of it.
Government mandated masks in public areas and private businesses and residences will never ever be supported by me for any reason. frick the federal government. The federal government exists for the common defense, guidance not mandates, and to solve interstate disputes. It should be small and it should be quiet. Local and State politics are what we should be concerned with. The erosion of the 10th amendment began the downfall of the country. The passing of the 17th amendment spread a cancer we have never recovered from.

Sorry you live in an authoritarian city
I encourage mask use and if businesses ask you to wear them its their choice
I despise government mandates.

Nah, it’s more a sign of confusion and fear that’s been pumped into people’s heads. I seriously don’t blame people for wearing a mask or not wearing a mask. Who the F knows anymore what to do? Just do what feels comfortable and respect people who wear them or don’t. It’s not the end of the world either way, and not something I think we should wage war over by any stretch.

Why? My local grocer doesn’t require it.
