Are Texas and Louisiana different countries? you somehow failed to recognize that part of my post.

It's funny you mention the UK. True Stockholm Syndrome is what the UK is going through right now. They're cuddling up to a violent religion that wants to disassemble the British culture and destroy any trace of that island's history.

I’m actually happy with being from Louisiana. I do love the Louisiana culture here.
Personally, i would rather live in the Bradenton/Sarasota area of Florida. Wouldn’t act all special cause i lived in Florida or suddenly rep Florida but i would be quite happy with the amount of pools and beach i lived around. Cause those are my favorite places.

same, but i also feel like I'd feel the same way if I was from somewhere like Iowa.

Nationalism is a perversion of patriotism.
Meh, I’ve always used those terms interchangeably. I think it’s a reach to attempt to make one positive and the other negative.

Well i do think some of what people call racism is just tribalism too.
And then you can be tribal north vs south, east vs west.
Tribal in your sports teams.
Tribalism isn't Stockholm syndrome. Its literally grouping up in tirbes.

Yes but I don't claim it is amazing. I just enjoy the food/culture and it's where family is.
Lol Lousiana would be amazing without the people.
Its a very beautiful state, the whole country is really. Its the people fricking it up.
People are the problem no matter where you move to.
I can say the pnw is beautiful but also shitty and filled with homeless people trashing up the place.

Tribalism isn't Stockholm syndrome.
obviously it isn't a 1 to 1, the question is is it a form of something like it.

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response that occurs when someone held captive or abused develops a bond with their captor or abuser
would someone from a place like the Gaza strip fit those terms? they are apparently happy to die fighting Israel, for what reason? Gaza has given them nothing but suffering.

Same thing. Geographic identity.
Are you not proud of your city, country, or state?

For their tribe called palestine.
Stockholm syndrome would them becoming israeli jews after all of this. They would just join their abusers' tribe.
Or the hostages hamas took become hamas supporters and dont want to go back with their people in israel. Thats stockholm syndrome.
I think you are off here my guy.

I root for Iowa High School sports teams, but I don't delude myself into thinking it's any better of a place than Eunice or Kinder or Lake Charles.

So you dont think Texas is better than Louisiana?

Texas is better than Louisiana. I still prefer Louisiana, probably because it's where i was born and raised.

If you don’t connect with people, or you’re some psycho that believes all all interpersonal connections should be “equal” or the “the same”, then what exactly would you find to be meaningful in this world?

This is true, whether that bond is love or hate it is still a strong connection.
Im pretty sure the most likely person to kill you is your spouse statistically.

It's odd to me that even when a place sucks in every measurable category like Pakistan, people from there will sacrifice their lives to defend it.
Because it’s their home. What else is there to understand about it?
You wouldn’t sacrifice your life for your hearth and home, even if it was a place like this? Which is in Pakistan, by the way.

I wouldn't sacrifice my life for Iowa or Calcasieu Parish or Louisiana if that's what your asking. Wouldn't do it for Joe Biden's America either. Trump wouldn't either, that's why he dodged the draft.

What if your sacrifice would mean that your descendants would continue to live on in Calcasieu Parish or Louisiana?
