Is tomorrow and Sunday “This weekend” or “Next weekend”

I have always said “this weekend” starting on Monday. Next weekend has always been the weekend for next week.
A couple days ago, I said, “I’m on vacation next weekend!”
Someone at work that heard me said I’m on vacation Mardi Gras weekend, not next weekend (they were referring to tomorrow and Sunday.
What do you say?

"this" is the closest upcoming weekend.
"Next" is the one after that.

Tomorrow and Sunday are this weekend. Tomorrow, the following Saturday and Sunday will be known as next weekend.
