Is this the new trend to close all public offices every time a weather front approaches?

The same people that bitch about covid shutdowns are fine with this, its weird

You are more likely to do die of covid than have a tornado hit your house

Is getting ridiculous.
If these government employees weren’t getting paid to stay home, you’d see this fad fade quick.

So EBR cancelled school today, called it a virtual day and my kids have virtually nothing to do, well one was sent home a couple of worksheets designed to make up for an entire day of school. They sent admin for a half day because they are legally required to work at least a half day to get paid. This is utter bullshite. EBR schools kept having to change the wording on the closure announcement because schools didn't actually plan to teach today and they had to move the goal posts after hours. This is really unethical, criminal behavior from the people running our schools.

Yes. When you have no accountability to anyone, no requirement to deliver anything, and no need to keep customers happy you jump on any excuse available to not go to work.

We live in a world of continual frivolous litigation. Cheaper to shut down for the day and avoid the possibility of someone getting in a wreck on the way into work because the office is open in inclement weather or PTSD or some other concocted issue.

Government people will do what ever they have to do to work as little as possible for the duration of their careers.

Do you think teachers who are still begging to stay home though the covid crisis is over is related to litigation ?

I don’t believe Louisiana has a true teachers Union, just groups who advocate and provide different services.

Correct, Louisiana teachers unions are a joke and hold no true power because there are 3 that recruit teachers and none have the real financial means to bribe the right politicians
