I don’t think that’s at all what he’s saying.
As for Huey P Long, we should remove that damn statute in front of the Capitol and throw it into the MS River. He and his family robbed Louisiana and its taxpayers, and he threatened government workers and forced them to donate to his campaigns and campaign for him.

Absolutely absurd that Trump bootlickers read into between the lines here to say that he's calling for assassination and when confronted with Trump saying

Trump and Huey Long may have remotely similar rhetoric, but their tactics and goals could not be more different. I think this author is just trying to make this connection to get attention and sell books.

I’d say the difference is Trump goes after those in his own party who refuse to kiss his ring or otherwise dare to oppose him.
