This is the way. Adopting the habit sucks but an empty sink to start every day is absolutely worth the effort, and after a few weeks it doesn't feel like a job, just routine.

Always room for more...
BTW, I have the same pattern as you have on bowls on bottom tray, Mikasa Garden Harvest...

Nice GE profile dishwasher.

She’s right. Too much on top.

Handwash the Yetis, move those big arse bowls to the bottom rack, and spread out the top rack so everything can actually be cleaned. You're worse than my wife at loading a dishwasher and that's saying something.

What a dumb arse thing to fight over. Running a dish washer is like $2 if she wants it ran, run it.

Just let her have her way in the kitchen, not worth it.

Ahhhh, yes the dishwasher. A constant battle in my house. Not between me and the wife, but with the wife and her own brain. She'll wrestle with arranging things so perfectly 3 times before running but then ignore the piles of random clutter she has collecting in six different places within sight of the washer.

Aint half full....my 85 year old blind daddy could have gotten that load in the top rack....

There are things on the top shelf that will not be cleaned because water won't hit them.
On the bottom shelf, there's an upside down bowl that will make it hard for water to clean what is above it.

Get a dishwasher with the third rack. Remove the silverware holder from the bottom and put the silverware on the third rack up top. Get a Bosch which has a better layout of the tines at the bottom and you could get twice the dishes in there and they would all still get clean - no matter how much you try to stack stuff and block water flow.

I'm going to assume this is a solid troll because no one is this (redacted)

My ancestors settled New Orleans in 1830 from France by way of Saint Domingue. I have two crawfish trays that can fit in my dishwasher. They come in more than one size.

As a rule of thumb, you should go ahead and run the dishwasher anytime there isn’t sufficient room left for however many dishes and cookware you expect to use for the next meal.

Did you buy the rest of your home furnishings from Goodwill as well?

Meh - if you can still close it without having to hold things in with one hand while closing the door with a shove, there is room for more.
