Speaking as a guy with a daughter, I can tell you a dad always wants what is best for his daughter. If your dad is telling you to run like a scalded monkey, start lacing those Nike's up.
Your dad did not find the wrong guy. He also did not find all of this guy's arrests. He has more than a few DUI's. Also, there is no University of California. There is a University of California system with different campuses spread out all over the state.
If he was a grad, he would have told you where from, like UC Berkley, UCLA, etc. Nobody says the went to the University of California.
How much debt is he in? He wants you bad.

Interesting point, because he definitely said "University of California" which I assumed was Berkeley. He really seems like he is telling the truth.
Dad only checked the Dallas County court records, I think.
I made a call and he does work where dad says he worked, and not a bank (I asked for him, they said "hold a moment please" and I hung up. But, the company does contract work for banks so maybe he wasn't lying and I misunderstood.

Do you just want an excuse to get laid? Take a cold shower. Seriously. If your dad has a background report and it lists things that are new to you, odds are strong there are quite a few other things you're not aware of, such as STDs.
